The Shetland Creek wildfire measuring over 200 square kilometres burned structures and parts of the forest in Venables Valley. Everyone including cows were evacuated.
The spreading fire then threatened the ranch where the cows were evacuated to, so cows were relocated to a very nice pasture in the mountains near Kamloops.
The next morning, the cows escaped their pasture and started running down the road, hoping to arrive back at their goshala in Saranagati (150km away). We followed them and were able to corral the cows into a horse pasture a mile down the road.
The cows were then relocated again to a good barn with lots of hay. They were safe, but not very happy Confused and lonely. They miss home, you could see it in their eyes.
The Cows finally returned home 3 weeks after the wildfire evacuation. Everyone was ecstatic!
In the end the goshala was untouched and our personal losses were minimal. All is well and its amazed how Krishna made so many arrangements for the comfort of His cows.
